Date #15

The background story-- We talked for a little while before the date, my schedule was really busy so we finally made a date for mid week.

The Guy--
Age: 25
Job: Works in insurance but also going to school for his MBA
What he wore: Jeans and a Tee (a bit more hipster)

The Date-- We met up at the wine place right near my house (his idea for wine, major points!) The date was fun, could have been all that wine ;) I think its really hard to know FOR SURE after a first date how you feel, most times both parties are a bit nervous. I also wasn't 100% sure if he was my type. But our conversation was good, I felt like we both laughed a lot which is important in my book.

So THENNNN I told my self if he asked I would go on another date, because I had fun, so if nothing else it would be a good time. And so he did, and we went out again Saturday night. And it was like a lot of fun, and it just felt easy and like I was really myself. I didn't expect it to go as well as it really did, and before the date I made plans to go on ANOTHER drink date with a DIFFERENT guy for Sunday night.....So yea things are gonna get interesting I think...

Stay tuned!

Date #14

This post is gonna be a bit different then most have been, mostly because I feel like I just need to write. Dating is HARD. I don't think women talk about how hard it is, other then with their super close friends, because I think its hard to admit when a date does lead to something more. Even though myself I know that it didn't work out it was because it wasn't the right thing for both people, its hard. And I probably beat myself up over it more then I should.

Lets be real a moment. Its draining. Getting to know someone, and to feel like you trust them enough to open up to them takes a lot. And then to try not to get your hopes up too much after a date, when we all do, is hard. And then there is the moment after a date that I try not to get to excited or try not to over think it all, which never works. And then its the awful moment when he says there wasn't that click.

And I try not to let it get to me. And I know its incredibly silly to get sad about a guy after one date. But I do. And that's me. Which makes me think I shouldn't be dating, because it's this awful cycle.

But in the end, I still want that ONE person. I want to BE in love, and to be LOVED. I know all this will be worth it someday. And if I don't put myself out there I won't find that, so I am gonna keep going as HARD as it sometimes is. I try to keep telling myself to just ENJOY it. Enjoy Enjoy Enjoy!

So clearly date #14 is not the one. Maybe I will make it all the way to my goal of dates for the year.

Date #13

Because I kinda skipped this one I will make a quick story just so its documented! :)

You remember date #12? How it was this picnic date...Well a few days after that one I went on another one and it was a picnic date again. But this one I was excited about!

The weather was a bit iffy, but it was sunning for the first part of it, and he had played to make some yummy food, and I said I would bring desserts. So we put out a blanket in the grass and really I thought had some good conversation, we ate our food and chatted and chatted, and then it started to rain a bit, nothing major so stayed put and enjoyed more conversation. We ended up talking for like 3 hours and I thought it was good.....But then he never called after the date.

So moral of, as I should know by now is that just because its a good date doesn't mean much.

The end. Of 13 of course.

{Date #12}

Well since there's another date that happened that makes it clear that #11 is out of the picture. And I am ready to move on and keep dating. I had a friend as me if I was still in the mood to keep on dating or I was feeling like what could be out there. But I am still hopeful most days that there is something out there and if nothing else I am dating to fulfill this blog :) Sure there has been a lot of ups and downs with dating this year, but its been fun, and if nothing else some very good drama and stories. Because I have been told I have/cause a lot of drama in my life, which makes for something interesting. Right?

So on to this what I would like to call this KINDA date.

The background story- So this of course was a guy I met online, and we have been talking a week or so, and kinda from the start I knew he wasn't my type, but we were having good conversation so I went with it, but I quickly realized not only did we not have much in common, but we were at VERY different stages in life. Hes young( same age as me, but I never date guys the same age as me for that reason) and still lives with his parents. So I was honest with him and said I felt like we were at different stages of life and that worried me and I didn't think that would work. He at first I think was a little upset and kinda said bye. But then came back the next day saying he had enjoyed getting to know me and asked if he could still take me out so we could meet. So being the nice girl I am I said yes, because I did have good conversations with him, and he was nice.

The Guy--
Age: 23
Job: Works at a car place transporting cars...
What he wore: He was actually dressed really cute, nice jeans and button up.

The Date-- This is where I feel really bad! Because he tried really hard to make this date perfect. He planned a picnic and made all the food him self and bought my favorite wine, and then even made chocolate covered strawberries. And it was all really cute and sweet and would have been perfect, but there just wasn't anything there like that at all! I mean I had fun in a friends kinda way, but nothing more then that. :/

{Date #11}

Its funny how this whole blog gets people talking. Its made it very easy for people to ask about whats going on with the guys in my life, and when I say there might be one people respond with why have I not heard about him on the blog!

So I feel like I owe it to all you reading to know.

This date #11 actually happened like a month ago. Time flies.

The background story-- We met online, of course, and really we didn't talk long at all before he asked me out on a date. It would have happened sooner, but I had been on a trip with my family.

The guy--
Age:27(I think, its probably bad I am not so sure about that!)
Job: He produces one of the Local morning news show.
What he wore: Cute button down shirt with jeans and flip flops. I approved!

The Date--  He picked a cute Italian restaurant I had never been to, and probably the first time ever I was running late on the date. And when I got there he was sitting outside on the bench. We went right in and got seated (because he has made reservations.) To be honest I am not even sure what we talked about, but it went by fast and he works at night, and I wasn't totally sure what time he went to work, so I wasn't surprised when after dinner he walked me to my car and just said bye, even though I was hoping to spend more time with him. But the night was still early for me and I needed to run some errands so off to target I went, and right when I got there he sent me a text and our convo went like this:

Him- I had a great time tonight.
Me: Oh I did too! Thanks for dinner :) and good choice!!
Him- Thanks. So when can I see you again
Me: Well when can YOU see me again? lol
Him- Yep its what I thought about the whole drive home. I should have asked if you wanted to go somewhere and talk, but I would be happy with a drink or a night out sometime soon.
Me: Well other then saturday I am free :) and yes you should have :) but it's okay!
Him- Well would you still like to, we only live a few miles apart.

And so he came over to my place and we took a walk and then sat outside and talked until he had to rush to work!

We then went out the next night also :) And things are still going...

We sadly the last few weeks haven't seen each other, he was super busy, then out of town, then I was out of town and now hes out of town again. We did see each other for a few hours Saturday night right when I got home and then he left early Sunday morning, so that was nice. I am not good at figuring out boys, so I don't know where we stand really :/ But its fun for now.... I do know he wants a relationship and not just something causal, so that's good...

So that's where things stand right now in my dating world. I am unsure if I should go on other dates right now or not.

Updates--Date {9} and {10}

So its been quite around here I know. I still have been dating but things have been slower and to be honest I think I was a little burned out. Dating is very frustrating. I love going on dates but I hate all the before and after worrying and wondering if more will come out of it. I have a hard time and just letting things go and see what happens. And I know this project was suppose to be just fun and carefree, but I am not that person so much when it comes to dating. I try to be and maybe pretend to be, but I will be honest I have had freak out worrying moments a lot. And I will admit I get down on myself when after 1 date with a guy nothing happens. I know everything happens for a reason and the right person will someday come along and stay.

So I have gone on 2(actually 3, but I will make a REAL post for #11) dates in the last couple of months. both went well I thought. But both guys weren't looking to very causally date, and as much as I wish I could just be that person I am not. So then came and went and I don't know. That's where things are for now.

I had a date this past week that I will PROMISE I will share all about in a new post in the next couple of days!

{Date #8}

The background story-- We met online. We had been talking a couple of weeks I guess. To be honest I have been in a bit of a rut and really didn't feel like going on dates. And I wasn't even sure I wanted to go on this date. But we had been talking quite a bit, like we spent like almost 2 hours on the phone one night, and so I went with it and figured the worst would be I still didn't feel like dating.

The guy--
Age: 32
Job: Head manger for a family painting company.
What he wore: Vneck tee shirt, jeans and nice sneakers.

The Date-- I wasn't at all nervous about this date. He had actually planned something, and then an hour or so before my room mate had some car trouble and was maybe going to need my help, so at first he said he would just wait until I was done, but then I didn't know how long it was gonna be and didn't want him to just keep waiting, so I said maybe lets do another night, but then she didn't need my help and I kinda still wanted to do something so we met up somewhere close to my place for dinner outside because it was AMAZING out. Conversation was easy with him, and we both have a lot in common, so things really flowed easy, and it was fun. We talked a lot about family, we both come from similar families and could very much relate to each other stories! I laughed and smiled and was really glad I went on the date. After dinner and a few beers at the first place we headed to another place for some more beers. I ended up stay up way past my week day bedtime because to be honest I didn't want to go. It was just one of those easy fun nights. He walked me all the way back to my car and gave me a hug and a kiss! And then when I got home sent me a text saying thanks for the night and that he had a lot of fun!

5 things I learned about him--
1. He really likes to cook.
2. Hes not a very big sports fan.
3. He has 3 sisters.
4. We have mothers who are both very similar (a little crazy!)
5. He has only lived in Cincinnati for a year.

The Verdict--
I had a lot of fun, and we already have plans to hang out again. I am not trying to figure out what will happen. I am having fun though and its good! So we will see...
